Tend the Flame community poem was created by the Wick Poetry Center at Kent State University in celebration of the 50th anniversary of the National Writing Project. This model poem draws from lines written by National Writing Project teachers who participated in a writing workshop at the National Council of Teachers of English (NCTE) Annual Convention on November 20, 2022, at the Anaheim Convention Center in Anaheim, California.
